With strict health and safety protocols in place, Cabo San Lucas and the POI Institute are open, safe, and ready for your arrival.

Entering Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

There are currently No travel restrictions in place that will impact your air travel to Mexico. The Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) is open to international flights following all the health protocols. Although, Mexico currently does not require a COVID-19 test to enter the country, to ensure the safety of our patients and staff, POI requests that all patients coming for treatment show proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

Returning to the United States

Effective January 26th, 2021 all international travelers flying to the U.S. (including those coming from Mexico), are required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 viral test taken within 72 hours of their departure. The results of the test must be presented to the airline before boarding your flight to the U.S. Per CDC requirements, the test can be a rapid antigen test.
The CDC Requirement states, “Air passengers are required to get a viral test (a test for current infection) within the 3 days before their flight to the U.S. departs, and provide written documentation of their laboratory test result (paper or electronic copy) to the airline.”
POI makes this requirement quick, easy, and affordable for our patients. POI schedules each patient’s Covid test the day before they are scheduled to return home. The test is conveniently done and at the facility by a medical doctor. We receive results via email the same day and print the lab results for patients to take with them to the airport.
