4.What to expect upon your arrival in Cabo?
No need to worry about what to do when you get off the plane in Cabo.
We will be there to personally pick you up at the Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). To further ensure your safety, on the day of arrival we will perform a series of blood and urine tests along with an EKG. These tests are done after you arrive in Cabo vs prior to, allowing us to get the most up-to-date lab work and EKG prior to your Ibogaine treatment.
POI Required Medical Tests performed upon your arrival in Cabo
1.Electrocardiogram (EKG)
We will perform an EKG upon your arrival at the POI Institute.
An electrocardiogram is an electrical scan of your heart. There are certain pre-existing heart conditions that are contraindicated with Ibogaine.
Even individuals who are healthy and have strong hearts could have certain pre-existing heart conditions that can serve as a reason to postpone treatment, alter one’s protocol and the amount and time frame Ibogaine is administered and in certain cases hinder treatment all together. To ensure the most accurate results, please do not take any stimulants (including coffee) within 24 hours of your arrival in Cabo as stimulants can alter the results of an EKG.
2.Lab Work
Prior to Ibogaine treatment, the POI Institute requires each patient undergo a complete blood work that includes a complete liver panel and electrolyte count. All medical tests will be completed upon your arrival at the POI institute. POI does not accept medical testing preformed prior to your arrival in Mexico as the results of medical and lab testing essentially depict “a moment in time” and for the most accurate results, the POI Institute requires that these tests are preformed and completed under our supervision upon each individual’s arrival in Cabo.
A POI nurse will supervise your private in-room treatment and provides exclusive one-on-one care throughout the duration of your Ibogaine treatment.
Our fixed-fee rates cover all clinical treatments, food and program activities.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required 30 days prior to arrival.
